Boo and I have always worked, and with the kids arriving over the years, we found it increasingly harder to have childcare. Unfortunately, we are one of those families that don’t really have a support network, therefore are limited in help or childcare options.
Some families have a great support network to rely on but for us we never have. This has always limited us on what we can do in terms of juggling work patterns, appointments and social engagements. Often have had to rely on schools, nurseries etc as much as we can. I’m more than happy to spend all the time we can with the kiddies but with work especially we were often trying to balance things around each other.

Finding childcare with Childcare.co.uk
Childcare.co.uk is a website that allows you to search for local childcare for many situations including babysitting, nursery, childminding, tutoring and many other reasons. They even have an NHS and key worker section which could be very handy during the current lockdown situation. There is also a section that enables you to register and look for childcare jobs, which again can be an extremely useful tool if you are in that workforce, they currently have over 2 million members which are a staggering amount.
When we first left school this type of website and service wasn’t a thing, let’s be honest with the phone age and internet advances it’s only the last 10 years we’ve seen a flurry of all sorts of services. This advancement allowed Childcare.co.uk to have a website but for mobile App, also which for many will be even easier because of the current generation of parents using Phones and apps far more.
The app is available on both Android and iPhone and is highly scored with reviews etc. as is the website. The company has a high Trust Pilot score and other highly rated reviews, you can also see reviews on individual childcarers to put your search and confidence at ease. For me, this was one of the most challenging things years ago, if you need childcare for various reasons then who would you contact? who would you trust? and even now if you like us and have no family options, an emergency happens or a new job etc what would we do?
So with the website, you can search for the type of childcare you want, see who’s available, read reviews etc and feel more confident in arranging Childcare. They even have their own messaging service within the site etc. Again this is an excellent option as I can’t explain how upsetting and frustrating it can be struggling to find childcare even for just one night.
How easy is it to use?
The website itself is very easy to use, it’s colourful and detailed with many different options, but don’t let that confuse you, it’s still easy to use. You can go straight to what you need and where you need it, but if you want a more detailed search or want to spend time looking at the site’s options then there’s plenty to look at with tips and advice on the site also.
As I mentioned earlier there are several different options, from brief babysitting for a night, all the way to more private tutoring, which can be an alternative for those who want to utilise it, as well as schools, nurseries etc. The idea of it all, it can suit almost any situation and ease your concerns and help you find that vital childcare you need.
