As each month goes by my Diary from a Dad look at what’s happening with our little family, through all the adventures, challenges and obstacles that come to our lives. As a family of 5, with 3 children at different ages every day, week and month can offer something different. Summer Holidays have arrived! The kids are off, The Weather is beyond warm…so what happened this month?

A Working Summer Holiday
Both Roo and I have planned to have a week off at the being of the next month, literally right at the end of the Summer holidays so this month would see us both working but alternating in spending time with the kids, as I said earlier in the year its a more muted year for us compared to our normal every week and at times every other day, we would do something. However we did drop feed a few activities as well as our looming mini holiday next month, we started with a visit to Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach for Boo’s work.
Pleasure Beach
Its a place we haven’t visited many times even though we had lived in the area for many years, but it had just been one of those that we hadn’t taken the kids much to it, so it was a nice evening with the kids able to enjoy some rides as the attraction also celebrated the Anniversary of Madness filming House of fun at Pleasure Beach.
Fairies
Another Place we visited was Audley End with its House and Gardens on one side, and across the road, it’s a Railway and fairy walk. We had the opportunity to visit the Fairies before and was surprisingly a nice day out, and with the warm weather still raging we thought we would go again. Being near Cambridge it wasn’t a long way for us and worth a visit, especially for Piglet who loves Fairies.. however, we didn’t visit Audley end house last time, so we thought this time let’s use our museum passes and take a look. Don’t get me wrong there’s only so much younger kids will get from it, but it’s an interesting place to visit.
Monopoly
For something little different we visited London, we took part in a life-sized Monopoly, located on Tottenham Court Road, a thing for the kids to enjoy but actually was quite fun for all ages. The food and feel of it were great but it was all about the fun of doing a mini-teamed game of Monopoly against other groups, doing activities, answering questions and gaining properties and money,
Spending time together
Ofcorse we spent a lot of time together over the summer and we threw in some days to like cinema trips, meals, City shopping etc, being a tech family though the kids played their games and spend time with each other which was nice to see. As we look into next month, kids return to school, the weather cools…thank god……and we have a small break away from it all.
