Diary From a Dad, I look at what happened in our family life as each month goes by, with School, Work, outings, and general family life many challenges face us, but how do we get through the month and what happens? November is officially the month of Birthdays! with all three kids celebrating there’s, but with everything else that’s happening, half term, and a break away it was an action-packed month.
As I mentioned last month Half term was over Halloween, which was unusual but this also meant the month began with that time, so after a week of spooky-themed activities, film outings, family times and for the kids gaming… the kids returned back to school with birthdays on the eve of this.

Roo’s 18th
We started off with Roo’s 18th! a big-time event for her as she was finally an adult, however, with it being school, a small celebration with family and he best friend was the agenda while a selection of gifts that she wanted was pleasing for her, let alone that he major resent was seeing Taylor Swift at the end of August.
Tiggers Turn
Days later Tiggers birthday arrived, with him being a fully fledged teenage boy we had officially moved onto a those teenage years and to be honest he was just interested in gaming, sausage and chips, and brownies, this made up his birthday, and with him getting a new hardrive for his PS5 which yes its a big deal, and some new games he was set.
Piglet special celebration
Piglet’s birthday a couple of weeks later was slightly different, earlier in the year Roo and Boo had decided to celebrate it with a trip to Butlins at one of there Xmas themed weeks, something that we had never done before. They picked up a bargain offer and we planned to head there between Monday and Thursday to keep us under the radar of how any sessions the kids can miss from school.
A Special Trip
What Boo then did was arrange a trip WB studio tour, something we had been to a few times but hadn’t actually been there for 5 years, the plan was to visit there on the way through to Bognor Butlins, a place we have been before but also hadn’t been there for several years. The studio tour was excellent, I rate it anyway let alone if you’re a Harry Potter fan, its changed so much over the years and new stuff has been added, however, their Christmas-themed events are always great as for me this is my favourite time to visit, just to see the giant Model of Hogwarts covered in snow is excellent.
Ill cover more about Bognor Butlins in a future post but we certainly enjoyed ourselves at a slightly quieter but still people around holiday, the swimming and new play experience were the highlights of the week.We got to celebrate Piglets birthday while also visiting Santa the day after which for us normally starts the celebration of Xmas as soon as he birthday is over.
Busy Month
As I said we were busy with Xmas prep, working birthdays and days out, a trip to Sandringham for there Illuminate light show was always fantastic and this year was no different, though it was cold. With Xmas and December arriving Boo and I were busy working balancing and prepping for the month coming was becoming a challenge but that’s what its like, black Friday came and went with a new toaster and Hoover, while more presents and planning occurred.
