I’ve written a post about Disney+ at its launch and I talked about how in its infancy it was a good start, but let’s be honest Disney is huge, and when they do something they go all in and for them this is arguably the future of their films and TV, so as time goes on we are going to see more and more improvements, and during times like Lockdown or friends and family living far away, this is a great way to connect.

What they Say

“Disney+ is the dedicated streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more. As part of Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment, Disney+ is available on most internet-connected devices and offers commercial-free programming with a variety of original feature-length films, documentaries, live-action and animated series and short-form content. Alongside unprecedented access to Disney’s incredible library of film and television entertainment, the service is also the exclusive streaming home for the latest releases from The Walt Disney Studios. Visit DisneyPlus.com to subscribe and/or learn more about the service.

Disney+ is launching its new co-viewing experience, GroupWatch, in the UK. It’s a virtual real-time shared co-viewing experience that allows friends and family to watch their favourite shows and films from the Disney+ library, including Star Wars, Marvel, Disney classics, Pixar, National Geographic and more, together, wherever they are in the UK.

GroupWatch allows for up to seven subscribers to watch together, whether viewing via the web, mobile, connected TV devices or Smart TVs, whilst sharing their reactions in real-time. The synchronised playback means that each participant can play, pause (to grab more popcorn!) or rewind for the whole group.”

Overall

This is a great way to watch and streaming services using these techniques are becoming more popular, its a great idea and Disney do a great job at it, this is another example on the improvement their doing towards their streaming service.
