Lego Worlds – PS4

LEGO Worlds is an open environment of procedurally-generated Worlds made entirely of LEGO bricks which you can freely manipulate and dynamically populate with LEGO models. Create anything you can imagine one brick at a time, or use large-scale landscaping tools to create vast mountain ranges and dot your world with tropical islands.

Drop in prefabricated structures to build and customize any world to your liking. Explore using helicopters, dragons, motorbikes or even gorillas and unlock treasures that enhance your gameplay. Watch your creations come to life through characters and creatures that interact with you and each other in unexpected ways. In LEGO Worlds, anything is possible!

Lego worlds is avaiiable

We own the PlayStation 4 version so we reviewed this format, it is available on Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch, which are essentially the same versions. On PS4 there are only so many Kids games in my opinion and Lego Games are arguably the best Kids games on the Console.

Certainly, for a younger generation, anyone less than 12 would still appreciate these games, and less than 7 years old would find this a good way to introduce themselves to this sort of gaming. Tigger really enjoys the all of the Lego games, Roo has played most of them through the years and no doubt Piglet will soon lol.

This game, unlike the other Lego series, isn’t based on a particular Film, Game, or genre, as mentioned above its open world. Much like Minecraft in the sense of building and collecting etc, but whereas Minecraft is ultimately limited in what you can do, as long as you discover an item in this game you can use it.

As ever with Lego games, you can drop in drop out multiplayer, which makes it far easier when Tigger is playing, as I can drop in, play some of the levels or help build etc..then if I need to go do something else, drop out really quickly, and pick it back up later.

One of the big parts of the game, as promoted by them also, is the ability to Explore, Discover and Create, and it is essentially that, you need to explore, the more you do the more you can find, this Discover feature means that you can build it once you have discovered it.

Explore Discover create

This might not mean much to you at the moment but in other games, it can get complicated or hard to try and attain certain things, as you have to craft what you want, and this could take ages grinding for. Don’t get me wrong you still have to come across it, so it can take a little while but its part of the exploring side of the game, not a boring grind fest.

The Create is hard to describe, because it’s simply that, you can, there are so many things you could build, create, try. Much like other games if you were to google designs, you can see what people have built, and the pure scale of what they have put into it.

For a child, this is often the best bit, chance to mess around and create whatever, doesn’t have to be logical. Tigger though is a logical person and likes to try and build villages, or detailed buildings, or tracks…the odd time he will mess around and ride a pig etc…though that was my influence. Being in the Lego Universe, there are so many things you can use, and if you want you could play this for hours.

Overall

Overall it’s a good game, a unique difference compared to other games that are similar, even compared to other Lego games there is enough difference to value the purchase. there are similarities with collecting bricks etc..but, in reality, your mind is the only limitation. Tigger plays this in stints, he gets a project and wants to do it, then leaves it for a couple of weeks then back on it again. It’s good to utilise around other games, as you can just chill and have fun.
