Roarr Dinosaur adventure is an 85-acre attraction with Dinosaurs and other activities, but they also center around the love of Dinosaurs. Its located just west of Norwich in Norfolk, near Lenwade, and is open most of the year with different themed events around the year.
This is arguably our closest attraction as we live within 10 miles of it, and have been able to visit it a few times over the last few years, but for me, it’s been around for years and years and I went when I was little. We love dinosaurs so are always keen on seeing these types of attractions, and with the other activities situated there it’s often a motivation to go. it’s ok to get to, unfortunately, due to the Norfolk roads it’s not great for new people visiting the place for the first time, you can go via the A47 but there are country roads to contend with.

The Attraction
In the entrance area is a shop that you can visit on your exit, as well as an indoor picnic and seating area, these also hold parties and a few early dinosaurs exhibits, and these are relatively new and look good.
You are met by a big central area with grass, on the there is an outdoor play area with an assortment of things to play on, with an under 7s area inside also, there’s a small amount of seating area but this is the starter as you are able to go off in different directions as several activities are situated around here.
Dippy’s Splash Zone is an outdoor play area filled with water jets and playthings, this can be great at hot days over the summer.
Next to here is Duppy Ville, which is an indoor play area design for younger kiddies and toddlers, there’s a much larger area, but these can be busy and frantic so it’s good the little ones are catered for.
Following around the area, next is the Lost world A-Mazing adventure which is a small trail through some woods, with smaller dinos and bog-like scenery, with several paths leading in different ways to give the allusion of the maze.
X-Tinction Fossil Dig is a covered sand area with the ability to do some fossil digging, this is a nice chilled out area for the kids while you can sit down at the sides.
There are a couple of smaller activities including Raptor racers and Jurassic Put, this little go-kart-like activity and mini-golf can be a little different than the other bigger more physical activities, and could appeal to others.
Dionmite is the last activity around that middle grass area, this is the big indoor play area that is heavily used and played, whatever the weather, this also holds a cafe, guest services and toilets and will always be one of the places to visit, some people will stay here for most of the day.
Much of all of this is set higher than the other part of the attraction, there are two routes down to the lower part at the bottom of a small hill, one area is Neanderthal walk, this is a pretty steep route for some and may take people time with pushchairs, wheelchairs or those less able to walk, so walking back up it can be tough, this is something to bear in mind, the path splits but on one side are mammoths, Sabre tooths and other dinos and people that fit the time.
The other way down is arguably the most known of the attraction, the Dinosaur Trail is a long walk through the woods with big dinosaurs either side and can be a great place for a chilled out walk, but also a great picture and interactive walk.
At the bottom of the hill where these two finishes are some smaller activities, but the highlight for many will be the Predator, which is a high rope activity for those who with two braves it, the great thing also about this is it looks great! the dinos and scenery look very nicely done and excellent in its presentation.
There’s a food restaurant is the from of the Explorers, Toilets, Nautilus (takeaway fish and chips), and classrooms which is where school trips and other activities are based.
The Brave explorer’s area has an assortment of small animals, like chickens, Pygmys, Donkeys, Rabbits, Pigs etc…that kids can all see, its a little barn-like area with similar animals.
Overall
Overall this is still a good place to visit, what has impressed me over the last few years is the constant investment and tweaks they are doing, every year they are doing new stuff that is slightly changing the old perhaps out of dates park into a good place to visit, things like the high ropes, fossil dig, Splash area, the two indoor areas have all raised the profile of the Attraction.
However, this is a light negative about this, the main dinosaur trail is looking a bit old and tired, and made worse now by the modernising of the rest, other parks around the county have got better quality dinos with sounds and movements, and they have started to invest in them near the main area and entrance, but the main trail is arguably its history and reputation.
The play areas for many are a great addition, and a big chunk of the day, personally it’s a good afternoon out, maybe a day if you were to let the kids play for a long while. It does get busy at times and thus could make the day-long but I would recommend this a day out, and f they keep up the investment then fantastic.
