Star Wars Battlefront 2 from EA games is an action and multiplayer game set in the Universe of Starwars and in this version covers all 3 eras of the filming franchise, this was released on PS4, XboxOne and PC and has multiple updates etc since launch.
So Tigger and I are big Star Wars fans, and with the age rating of the game I held off getting it for him, great plus point with that strategy these days is any issues and updates, and new DLC etc is out now and part of the game. Back in the day, I was one of those first Battlefield fans with 1942, I was also in the gaming industry so I saw the initial resistance to an only online multiplayer game on PC, fast forward Battlefield became one of the biggest franchises in the gaming world.
But what’s Battlefront? well originally on the Battlefield 1942 game there were 2 mods, one a current war based on using the engine of the game with modern-day tech, this Desert Combat led ono create the modern-day battlefields, whereas the other was an unusual Star Wars mod, but it became so popular on the PC that not only did EA and Co eventually make battlefront they hired a few of the original developers. The game was launched to much success, especially the second version, fast forward over 10 years later we saw the rebirth of the franchise on the modern-day consoles, though the first perhaps had some issues it still had some good things.

This second game still is mainly a multiplayer game, and even though 20 years ago people were resistant, these days multiplayer is a huge part of gaming so even though this has a small single-player aspect, it’s about the multiplayer, the game caters with that choice of characters and maps, and as a star wars fan this appeals a lot due to the choice, and in reality, having that experience of playing the characters is great.
This is based on the films so the character models and designs are very lifelike to them, which for most is actually a better way to go, the maps are also very good and there are some good locations but based on the age of the game this mean there are some locations missing that people would have liked.

“Star wars battlefront 2 is an online game. There are two modes: story mode and online mode. Story mode is all about when you play as Iden Versio who is the commander of special forces of inferno squad the galactic empire. You don’t get to unlock different characters but once you have completed a level from story mode you get credits which allow you to buy different styles for characters for the online mode for people such as Ray, General Grievous, Chewbacca and Han Solo.
We also get to explore different planets and fly spaceships throughout the galaxy.
Online mode is all about when you play as different characters in lots of different game modes. You also spend your credits to get the different character styles and get to use them.
I like star wars battlefront 2 because I can play as some of my favourite characters and get to explore different worlds.”
Overall
Even though it’s mainly a multiplayer game this doesn’t hold back the playability, however not being a Starwars fan may do, this might be a little short-lived for those individuals, but those that love StarWars? it’s great, being that now-classic way of quick multiplayer matches it’s a good quick burst of game, personally, I couldn’t play it over and over as it doesn’t have the variety of modes compared to other games, but don’t let this detract from the quality of the look of the game, there are different skins and a big selection of Good and Bad characters with their own abilities, so you can try to cater to what you want.
The action raises the age rating of the game but let’s be honest there’s not alot more than the film so most young teenagers etc would be fine let alone those 7+ that may somehow end up with the game. As Star Wars games go it may not have the detailed experience of stories etc but for action and detail towards the films? it’s great.
